February 25, 2009/Wednesday

As I am writing this, all baseball games have been finished today, with the exception of the most important one: Red Sox at Twins.
The Sox played BC today, and with the help of Josh Beckett, easily took them down for a simple 7-1 win.  I couldn't watch the game live, but Josh Beckett seemed brilliant.  Then again, it's only BC.
So now here's the fun part: the Yankees.  They played the Blue Jays today, and easily wiped them out, 6-1.  But that is not the big story.  In front of the mostly harsh crowd, A-Rod hit one out of the park to silence the haters.  (The Yankees also made 4 errors in that game).  But afterwards, we have a report from MLB.com that:

As it turned out, Sucart was in the area. The
New York Post reported that Sucart picked
up Rodriguez after the game in a burgundy
sport utility vehicle outside the visitors' clubhouse.

Okay, even though half of the press is going to end up saying that Sucart probably gave A-Rod some more steroids, that is definitely 100% false.  Sometimes it's just stupid how exaggerated the press lets some stories become.
For the game against the Twins, Pedroia got the first hit in the first official Spring Training game by hitting a double.

That pretty much sums up the first day of Spring Training.  We finally get baseball, but not much else going on accept for the presence of A-Rod.
