February 21, 2009/Saturday

With the way the first week of my daily blogging underway, this clearly should be called "Yankees Steroid Nation Daily" rather than "Red Sox Kid Nation Daily."  And my punishment for this much mention of the Yankees will be to refrain from saying anything about the man who everyone is roasting about his steroid use.  I won't even mention his name once.  And even though I won't mention you-know-who, I do have to mention the Yankees, with the help of Bryan Hoch and his MLB.com article entitled "Damon, Nady keep focus on the field.":

Damon and Nady are among those who have
had their assets frozen by the government,
which is investigating the Stanford Financial Group
and an alleged $8 billion fraud scheme involving
billionaire Robert Allen Stanford...

Nady, due $6.55 million this season, is trying to
line up an apartment in New York for the
upcoming season and has had trouble putting a
deposit down without a credit card to back it.

This just shows how bad the economy really is.  Two Yankee outfielders running short on money?  How could that be?  Maybe the Devil (Mark Teixeira) and his salary had something to do with this...

MarkTeixeira.jpg    In other stories, David Ortiz confirmed that Angel Presinal, the same guy who was seen in 2007 around He-Who-Must-Not-Be Named, had also worked with Ortiz.  Ortiz mentioned however that between him and Presinal, there were never any steroids mentioned.  Should we trust the man?  Of course-he is one of the most truthful men in baseball. A couple of years ago, he admitted to drinking protein shakes from GNC, questioning if they were illegal.
Back to the Yankees.  MLB.com's Bryan Hoch wrote another noteworthy article for MLB.com, again exploring the Yankees woes:

Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia missed a
scheduled live batting-practice session and
left the team's Spring Training camp Saturday
with the flu
.

It turns out that The Fat Devil is already getting worked up.  Too bad he can't miss games in the middle of the season just to go and grab some more lunch at Taco Bell or Pizza Hut.

SB-Sabathia-R.jpg    There's not much more on a February Saturday afternoon that should not even have this much baseball news going on.  I even got away without even mentioning Alex Rodriguez.  Dang it!

Ellsbury has money tied up in the Stanford mess. At least he is diversified so he has access to cash! lol!
